About me
- Where I liveI have been based in London for the past ten years.
- Where are you originally from?Prior to living in London, I lived far far away. Since I had a very difficult time there, I left it and came to London.
- Do you want to stay there?I am likely to be in London for some time as my job is here and most of the type of work I do is in London. Therefore unless I start a new career, I am likely to be in London for some time.
- What is your occupation?I work as a qualified accountant specializing in forensic cases, an occupation which I have been pursuing for many years. The job has only kept the biggest and nastiest wolves from the door, but has not achieved much else.
- What have you done so far?I was too young to do anything else before my current career as I have been doing accountancy for too long.
- What are your future plans? My single most important plan is to find a suitable partner. Without achieving this, all other plans which I may have had are mostly irrelevant and largely impossible.
- Your perfect partnerThe most important thing with two people is for them to be able to get on well together. It is also important to be committed to making things work so far as a relationship is concerned. Beyond this, I may not be able to tell much more about my perfect partner until I actually meet her, when of course I should be able to provide full details.
Stuff I like
- What are you interests/hobbies?I have a range of interests, and I do not see any of them as an obstacle to a successful relationship. If you have any concerns about any particular hobby or interest, please ask. As mentioned elsewhere, I listen to a range of music and read from time to time.
- MusicI listen to a wide range of music. I found that range itself is more important than listening to any one particular record, musician, band, or style of music. I have listened to a considerable variety of jazz and popular music both old and more recent, with a reasonable portion of it outside the small number of "popular" or "mainstream" artists. Finally I listen to a range of classical music, and again, not just limited to the narrow range favoured by the masses.
- Your fav tv seriesI watch very little television.
- Your fav books/authorsI prefer books with short chapters and a fast plot since they are easier to pick up or put down. Examples include books by H.G. Wells, W.M. Thackeray, and S. Leacock (a Canadian author). I also found some books by M. de Voltaire to be eminently readable (in translation), with Candide being impossible to put down until it was finished.
- What sort of movies do you like?I prefer a good comedy, usually English rather than American, with a few exceptions. I also appreciate some early Alfred Hitchcock films, although I do not generally like "thrillers" by other directors.
- Types of people you like?I prefer people who possess a personality and character to those who do not. Since few people these days possess either personality or character, discussion of the particular sorts of either which may be more or less desirable is best left until later, and only then if it proves to be necessary.
- What kind of people do you find attractive? Attractiveness is one of those things which is very easy to recognize, but which defies all efforts to define or describe. Also what one person sees in something may not be seen at all by someone else. Therefore it is better not to narrow down what is attractive too far and leave it to be found wherever it may be found, be it of what kind it may.
- FoodI have always enjoyed several different types of food, including but not limited to curry, spaghetti, steak, chinese (Western or Hong Kong style although I have been to China), Cake, ice cream, and others. A regular supply of chocolate is also important and a space is kept for it in the 'fridge. I have found that the custom (which I understand is French) of talking while having a meal can be agreeable although it depends on who else is there.
- DrinksHaving seen first hand in London the worst excesses of the drink, I tend to avoid it. The face down in the gutter look is never attractive although it has been commonplace since time immomorial.
- HolidaysI have taken fairly few holidays since I find that the thrill of waking up in a very strange hotel room, with the wall always on the wrong side of the bed is somewhat overrated, particularly when, being single, this pleasure is, by necessity, taken alone. Of course, with a suitable partner, the prospect of a holiday may be altogether different.
- PetsSave the frog! Frogs can be cute and come in a wide range of colours and are photogenic enough to have several calendars made of them every year. I do not have any pets as I live in a flat and they would be climbing the walls by now out of utter desperation to escape.
- Fav thingI will let people know what she is like when I have met her. Until that happens, I can only guess as to what she is like.
- Fav PlaceI can see a room with leather armchairs and bookcases from floor to ceiling on every wall with thousands of leather-bound books. I have not found the room yet although I understand it is somewhere in the Home Counties.
- What's your favourite radio station ?I listen to several radio stations and I am both ready and willing to turn the dial if they put a bad record on the turntable and to turn it off if none of the other stations are any better.
My attitude
- Family lifeA stable and settled family life with a suitable partner is absolutely essential. Without a settled home or family life, nothing much else is really possible or worthwhile.
- Jobs&WorkingA job is frequently essential to keep the very big and dangerous "wolf" from the door.
- MoneyMoney may not make anybody happy, but we sure can be more comfortable in our misery with it!
- PoliticsI do not provide active support for any particular party. Instead, I believe it is better to decide which side to support or oppose on an issue by issue basis.
